Speech Language Pathology Assistant

Dysphagia Management Systems, LLC (DMS) is a mobile swallowing evaluation and instrumentation services based company, where licensed Speech-Language Pathologists with additional training in dysphagia provide patients and independent/assisted/skilled healthcare providers with the tools they need to foster a patient’s evolution through the continuum of patient care.  DMS has contracts with more than 800 independent/assisted/skilled nursing facilities, operating in 30+ states throughout the Northeast, Midwest, South and Western United States.  DMS emphasizes a dynamic working environment consisting of strong communication between team members, attention to detail and the capacity to grow within one’s field.   The main office is based out of Sarasota, FL, near Honore and University Parkway.

 

DMS is looking for a vibrant and hard-working individual to fill a position at the Sarasota, FL location.  Normal business hours are between 8:30am and 5:00pm, and you will be asked to maintain a M-F schedule during these hours.  The appropriate candidate will begin their DMS experience as a full-time hire with benefits eligible following 90 days if they succeed in this position.  Hourly salary range for this position is $12-$16/hr. As a Speech Language Pathology Assistant at Dysphagia Management Systems LLC, you will work closely with the President of the company, Carol Ghiglieri Winchester MS SLP CCC, on a variety of tasks, that all support the administrative and clinical demands at the main clinic in Sarasota, Florida.

The kind of candidate that can succeed in this position would possess the following skills:

1.Bachelor’s degree in business (management or otherwise), accounting, finance, psychology, human relations or related fields from an accredited University or College.

2. Currently holds  or is eligible to maintain a license as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant from the state of Florida

3. One - Three yrs of experience working in an office environment (administrative assistant, clerk or management) or healthcare environment

4. Experience with scheduling appointments and managing a schedule

5.Proficient with typing: 50WPM or above with no errors

6.Proficiency with Excel or other spreadsheet programs, with an emphasis on Excel features such as sorting, equations/functions, adding and deleting columns/rows/worksheets, exporting to other formats, etc.

7.Proficiency with Word and Adobe Acrobat/Reader for .doc and .pdf generation and editing

8.Proficiency with Powerpoint and/or Keynote presentation generation and editing

10.Excellent phone skills with a particular emphasis on multitasking, attention to detail and customer service

11.Proficiency with web interfaces, utilization of web search engines (Google, Yahoo, Wikepedia, etc.) and social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)

12. You will work directly with patients and will have to pass a background check, drug test, and must have a valid CPR certificate and TB test.
